Question

How do I connect my game console with ethernet (wired internet) in the residence halls?

Answer

  1. Plug an ethernet cable into the wall port or access point and then into your game console
    • Important: Only plug the cable into LAN1, LAN2 or LAN3. The ports labeled Console or Pass-Thru will not provide internet.
  2. Locate your wired MAC address
  3. Fill out the Network Device Registration Form on MyState
    • You can find it in the list of forms on your MyState Dashboard
  4. Wait until the top of the hour passes (e.g. If you fill out the form at 2:05pm, wait until after 3:00pm)
  5. Unplug your ethernet cable and plug it back in and/or reboot the console
