How do I use the control panel in a single projection Extron system?

Answer

Projector

  • Press the ON button for the video projector. ON will begin to flash.
  • There is no sound from the speakers until the ON button is pressed.

 PC 

  • Press the PC button on the control panel.
  • Make sure the computer is turned on; the unit is installed below the keyboard. Check if the power button is lit.
  • Make sure the monitor is tuned on, the lower right button should be lit.

VGA

  • Press the VGA button on the control panel.
  • Connect the 15 pin VGA cable between the laptop and the input port on the podium.
  • Connect the 3.5mm audio cable between the laptop and the audio jack on the podium.
  • If the laptop is showing a different image between the laptop and projector, press Win + P and select Duplicate
  • If using a Mac Book, press Cmd + F4 to start mirroring

HDMI

  • Press the HDMI button on the control panel
  • Connect the HDMI cable between the laptop and the input port on the podium.
  • Some laptops require an adapter to be attached to the HDMI cable before it can be attached to the laptop
  • If the laptop is showing a different image between the laptop and projector, press Win + P and select Duplicate
  • If using a Mac Book, press Cmd + F4 to start mirroring

Document Camera

  • Press the DOC CAM button on the control panel.
  • Make sure the power light is lit blue on the document camera.
  • If the image is too dark, turn the light on the document camera.
    • Samsung document cameras have a light power button at the base of the unit.
    • Elmo document cameras have a light power button at the top of the unit close to the camera.
  • The image can be zoomed in to enlarge the picture.
    • Samsung document cameras have buttons for zooming in/out at the base of the unit.
    • Elmo document cameras have a dial that can be rotated at the top of the arm.

DVD/BluRay Player

  • Press the DVD button on the control panel.
  • Use the DVD remote control to navigate the onscreen menu.
  • Use the play, stop, pause, ff, or rr buttons to control the disc.

Speaker Volume

  • To adjust the speaker volume, turn the volume knob slowly up or down.
  • Light indicators should move up/down representing the current level.

A/V Mute

  • Press the A/V MUTE button to turn the projector image on/off and mute the audio.
  • If this button is flashing RED, the projector image and audio are muted.
