How do I install MATLAB on Windows?
Answer
- Visit the SDSU MATLAB Portal
- Select Sign in to get started
- Enter your Username and password
- Students use MyState username
- Faculty and Staff use firstname.lastname
- Select Login
- To download MATLAB, a MathWorks Account is required.
- If you need to create a MathWorks account, select Create. Fill out your profile information. Select Create
- If you already have a MathWorks account, select Sign In. Enter your MathWorks account password and select Sign In
- If you created a new MathWorks account, you will see a screen stating Your school's campus-wide license is now linked to your MathWorks Account. Select Install MATLAB in the top right corner. If you logged into an existing account, skip to step 7.
- Select Download for Windows
- Left-click the matlab_R2021b_win64.exe file
- The WinZip Self-Extractor will extract the files
- Enter your Email address and select Next
- Enter your MathWorks account password and select Sign In
- Do you accept the terms of the license agreement? Select Yes
- Select Next
- Select license. Leave defaults. Select Next
- Confirm User. Select Next
- Select destination folder. Leave default, select Next
- Select products (recommended products are preselected). Select Next
- Select Add shortcut to desktop
- Uncheck Improve MATLAB by sending user experience information to MathWorks. Select Next
- Confirm selections. Select Begin Install
- MATLAB will being installation
- Installation Complete. Select Close
- Launch MATLAB from your Windows Start menu or the desktop shortcut
