Classroom Instructions

Use the Extron panel on the podium to control the classroom system.

Press “On” to turn on the room display.

Press “Off” to shut the display off and mute audio.

PC – shows the classroom computer. The computer is located below the keyboard tray on the podium. Make sure the power led is lit on both the computer and monitor.

HDMI – connect a device using the provided HDMI cable. Some systems will also have a wireless connection option that will display on the room display when this button is selected.

Doc Cam – located on the side shelf of the podium. Make sure the unit is powered on with a blue led.

Blu-ray – located on upper-right shelf of the podium. A small black remote labeled “Sony” will control the unit.

Audio Mute – when red, mutes all room audio (microphone included), press to toggle between audio or no audio

Video Mute – when red, stops projecting image to the room display, press to toggle  to hide or show the video

The “Volume” knob will control the room audio. It will also adjust microphone levels if the unit is too quiet in the classroom.

Crestron AirMedia Connection Instructions

To connect wirelessly, download the Crestron AirMedia application onto your laptop by typing the IP address shown on the display (e.g. 137.216.210.204) into the address bar of a web browser.

Then select “Start Presenting”, it will offer a download of the application for your operating system. Run the application after it downloads.

For mobile devices, go to the app store and search for “Crestron AirMedia”.

Once installed, open the application.

Enter the IP address shown on the display (e.g.137.216.210.204), hit enter. A new dialog will  ask for the access code. Enter the access code shown on the display. This will connect you to the display and you are ready to go.

On mobile devices, you may be asked to start casting/using airplay to connect from here.

Please remember to disconnect or close the Crestron AirMedia application when finished presenting. This ensures you will not continue displaying your device on the display once you leave the room.

 

 

 

PTZ Optics Camera Remote

The remote must be pointed at the front of the grey “PTZ Optics” camera.

White number “1”, under camera select should always flash red when a button is pressed.

You can adjust the camera using the arrows and zoom controls on the remote.

Presets 1-3 are typically set already but you can use numbers 4 through 9 to set your own preset:

  1. Adjust the camera to the desired position.
  2. While pointing the remote at the camera, press preset (just above the left arrow).
  3.  Press the number you want to use for the preset.
  4. The camera image should show that the preset was set in the top left corner.

Keep in mind that other people may set a preset and overwrite yours.

  Please do not turn off the camera.

Using Zoom in the Classroom

These instructions assume you have previously setup your Zoom Meeting in Outlook or the Zoom application.

  1. Start the room system with the control panel on the podium.
  2. Login to the classroom computer
  3. Sign into the Zoom application and start your Zoom meeting or join a meeting with a meeting ID.

  • The camera should be set for “NewTek NDI Video” or a similar variation.
  • The Speaker audio should be set to “Default Audio”.
  • The Microphone should be set to “Microphone”.

Use the Shure handheld or lapel microphones in the room for the best quality. The units may be in black Shure bags located on the shelf on the podium.

If the microphones do not power on with a green led, change the batteries with the spare AA batteries on the podium.

Note: If recording your Zoom meeting to the Cloud, the recording will be in your Panopto account within an hour of stopping the recording.
