Summary

This article covers if students need to disclose their disability to faculty.

Body

Question

Do I have to disclose my disability to my professors?

Answer

No. However, it is recommended that you tell your professor about your disability and how the accommodations assist you in accessing the course. You have the right to share whatever information you believe would be helpful. Developing a relationship with your faculty can enhance your academic experience.

For further assistance, the Office of Disability Services can be reached at (605) 688-5585 or at SDSU.Disabilityservices@sdstate.edu. You can also visit the website for more information: https://www.sdstate.edu/office-multicultural-affairs-accessibility/disability-services.
