Question

How do I request a housing accommodation?

Answer

Note: This is for students seeking housing accommodations not related to non-service (emotional support/ESA) animals. For information on animals in university housing, see Requesting Non-Service Animals in University Housing.

*Students must complete the SDSU Housing Application before requesting any type of housing accommodation.

If requesting housing accommodations NOT related to animals:

  1. After submitting the SDSU Housing Application, contact the SDSU Office of Disability Services:
    1. Phone: (605) 688- 5585
    2. Email: SDSU.DisabilityServices@sdstate.edu
  2. Provide documentation from the student’s current healthcare provider to support their accommodation request.
  3. The Office of Disability Services will review the request and documentation with the appropriate staff.
  4. The student will be informed of the decision and next step to arrange housing accommodations.

For further assistance, the Office of Disability Services can be reached at (605) 688-5585 or at SDSU.Disabilityservices@sdstate.edu. You can also visit the website for more information: https://www.sdstate.edu/office-multicultural-affairs-accessibility/disability-services.
