How do I install Stata on Mac?

- Important: Download the entire installation folder to your system before running the installation. You will need to have requested your serial number, code and authorization number on the Stata service page. Undergraduates need to purchase their own license if it is required for a class or Stata can be accessed at the First Dakota National Bank eTrading Lab on the 1st floor of Harding Hall: https://www.sdstate.edu/ness-school-management-economics/first-dakota-national-bank-etrading-lab
- Double-click the installation files folder named Stata 17 for Mac Installation
- Double-click the Stata17.dmg file
- Double-click Install Stata
- Welcome to the Stata 17 Installer. Select Continue
- Software License Agreement. Select Continue
- Select Agree
- Put a checkmark next to Stata/SE
- Select Continue
- Select Install
- Enter your Mac admin user name and password
- Select Install Software
- Wait for the installation to complete
- The message The installation was successful will display once installation is complete
- Note: It may be hidden behind the other open windows
- Double-click StataSE
- Enter your license information to initialize Stata/SE
- Name: Enter your first and last name
- Organization: South Dakota State University
- Serial number: Refer to your license confirmation email
- Code: Refer to your license confirmation email
- Authorization: Refer to your license confirmation email
- Uncheck Register Stata online
- Select Finish
- It has been at least 7 days since you last checked for updates. Select OK
- An update is available. Select OK
- Wait for the updates to complete
- The update installed successfully. Select OK
