Find Wired MAC Address on Windows

Question

How do I find my wired MAC address on Windows 10?

Answer

  1. Plug an ethernet cable into the wall port or access point and then into your system
  2. In the taskbar search (near the Windows start button), search "command prompt" and hit Enter to open the Command Prompt App
    • Alternate Method: Right click the Windows start button, select Run, and type in "cmd" in the Open field, click Ok
  3. In the Command Prompt app, type: ipconfig /all then hit Enter
  4. Windows will display your IP Configuration. Look for the heading labeled Ethernet adapter Ethernet
  5. The Physical Address is the MAC address

Important: You may also see Wireless LAN adapters which will also show a Physical Address--these are not your wired MAC address. If you are filling out the Network Device Registration Form to connect a computer to the wired network, make sure you are noting the correct Physical Address under the Ethernet adapter Ethernet heading.
