Question
How do I find my wired MAC address on Windows 10?
Answer
- Plug an ethernet cable into the wall port or access point and then into your system
- In the taskbar search (near the Windows start button), search "command prompt" and hit Enter to open the Command Prompt App
- Alternate Method: Right click the Windows start button, select Run, and type in "cmd" in the Open field, click Ok
- In the Command Prompt app, type: ipconfig /all then hit Enter
- Windows will display your IP Configuration. Look for the heading labeled Ethernet adapter Ethernet
- The Physical Address is the MAC address
Important: You may also see Wireless LAN adapters which will also show a Physical Address--these are not your wired MAC address. If you are filling out the Network Device Registration Form to connect a computer to the wired network, make sure you are noting the correct Physical Address under the Ethernet adapter Ethernet heading.
