FAQ
What browser and devices can be used for registration? The Registration Self Service works best with a PC and works on any browser.
What is the Financial Agreement? When you login to Registration Self Service it will be directed to the Required Financial Agreement. To register, you are required to acknowledge the agreement to the financial terms and conditions. This agreement will need to be signed each semester you are enrolled in classes.
How do I search for classes? Use Browse Classes is recommended. It has more search options and shows detailed information on each class.
How do I change the credits on a variable credit course? Register for course then go to 'Register for Classes' and select 'Schedule and Options.' Click the number in the 'Hours' column and enter number of credits. Click 'Submit' button in lower right to save. Note: If you enter a number that takes your total credits over what you are allowed, it will show an error.
How do I drop a course or withdrawal from the university? Students can drop courses or withdrawal from the university through Registration Self-Service up until the last day to drop a course for a semester. This date is noted for each semester on the Academic Calendar website. For details on how to drop a course or courses, please view the Dropping a Course How-to video through the My-State Student Success Videos. To withdraw from the university (drop all semester courses), please contact the Registrar’s Office at 605-688-6195 or SDSU.Registrar@sdstate.edu as soon as possible to initiate the withdrawal process. Dropping courses or withdrawing from the university will result in a “W” grade, for further details on how this will appear on your transcript please visit, Course Drops and Withdrawals.
Note: if a student has any active holds on their accounts those will need to be resolved before they are able to adjust their course schedule. Please contact your advisor or the Registrar’s Office if you have any questions.
