Security Awareness Training

The IT Security team conducts security awareness training for all faculty/staff. Every new employee completes the training, and all existing employees must complete the training bi-annually. To supplement that training, we conduct simulated phishing campaigns and provide training to clickers as a part of that campaign. Additionally, our security awareness program provides digital media for social media posts and digital signage.

  • Security awareness training informs faculty and staff of the latest cybersecurity threats facing our campus community today
  • The supplemental phishing campaign educates our community about the common types of malicious messages they may experience at work and at home
  • Our informed faculty and staff act as a Human Firewall protecting our University as the last line of defense
  • The security team also works with various departments to provide specialized training programs. Some topics available for specialized training include:
    • Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)
    • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
    • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
