Answer

  1. Go to https://outlook.sdstate.edu using the incognito/private browser mode. Sign in with your SDState email and password.

  2. Do NOT authenticate with Duo. Instead, click on Need Help? in the bottom of the login box, and select Manage devices. (Note: You may need to click Cancel before accessing the settings menu if your account is set up to send an automatic push.)

  3. Approve the Duo Push on your phone or Enter a Passcode from the Duo Mobile App

  4. You can now select the Edit button to reactivate a device, change the device name, add another device, or configure your default device and the action Duo will take when you log in (e.g. Automatically send this device a Duo Push or Ask me to choose an Authentication method)

Note: If DUO Mobile is asking for a code to enter

1) Go to myduo.sdstate.edu and sign in with your username (usually this is your first and middle initial followed by your last name and it uses your email password).

2) Write down the Bypass Codes given.

3) Go to a site that requires DUO (ie. outlook.sdstate.edu) and sign in.

4) When you get the screen that says enter a bypass code or with the three digit verification number, DO NOT DO ENTER YET

5) Click on 'Need Help?' in the bottom left corner.

6) Then click 'Manage devices.'

7) Now you can choose enter one of the bypass codes.

8) This will then bring you to the page where you can add a new device, or remove an old one.
