Reactivate Duo on Your New Device

Question

Your old phone that had Duo on it was lost, damaged, stolen or replaced

Answer

  1. Go to https://myduo.sdstate.edu
  2. Fill in the requested fields
  3. Copy down your bypass codes
  4. Go to https://outlook.live.com/owa/ or https://jacksemail.sdstate.edu/ or  https://outlook.sdstate.edu using the incognito/private browser mode. Sign in with your SDState email and password.
  5. Do NOT authenticate with Duo. Instead, click on Settings in the top right corner of the login box, and select My Settings & Devices. Note: Before you can select Settings, you may need to click Cancel or Dismiss if it is sending you an automatic Push
  6. Select Enter a Passcode and enter one of your bypass codes and click Log In
  7. Enter your phone number. Select the This number already exists checkbox.
  8. Select the Gear icon and click Activate Duo Mobile
  9. Select what type of phone (e.g. iOS (iPhone), Android, or Windows Phone)
  10. If you already have Duo Mobile installed, skip to step 11. If not, open app store on your device and search “Duo Mobile” to install the app.
  11. Click I have Duo Mobile and open the Duo Mobile app on your phone. Scan the QR code by tapping the “+” in the top right corner of the app and then scan the code with your phone. Duo has been successfully added if you see the green checkmark over the QR code. Click Continue to finish setup.
  12. Review your settings and devices page. You can choose your default device and what happens when you log in. “Automatically send this device a Duo Push” is the most common.
