Microsoft 365 (Office 365)

What is it?

Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Microsoft Office 365) is the hub for all of the classic Microsoft tools: Office, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and more. All SDSU students and employees can download and use these tools free of charge

  • Contains Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook
  • OneDrive cloud storage to back up files and photos
  • Works on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
  • Advanced security for email and files
  • Ongoing technical support from Microsoft

Who can use it?

Current students, faculty, and staff may install the software on up to five university-owned or personal computers at no cost.

The software will remain active and usable for as long as you are a current faculty member, staff member, or student. 

Based on Microsoft's licensing requirements, it's not offered to past students who have graduated or leave SDSU.

Where can I get it?

Download and Install Microsoft Office 365

  • Desktop apps installed locally on your computer.

Office on the Web

  • For quick access to your Office 365 applications on any computer with an Internet connection, sign in to Office.com

How much does it cost?

There is no cost for this service for current students, faculty, and staff.
