Microsoft 365 Copilot (MS 365/Office 365)

What is it?

Microsoft 365 Copilot is the hub for Microsoft tools: Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more. All SDSU students can download and use these tools free of charge

Contains Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook
OneDrive cloud storage to back up files and photos
Works on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
Advanced security for email and files
Ongoing technical support from Microsoft

Who can use it?

Students can install the software on up to five personal computers at no cost.

The software will remain active and usable for as long as you are a current student. After you leave SDSU, the software will remain on your computer but will operate in a limited capacity until you subscribe to a personal Microsoft license. Your files will not be deleted.

Who can't use it?

Based on our Microsoft licensing, Microsoft 365 is not offered to employees for installation on personal devices or to students who have graduated or left SDSU.

Workplace Discount Program – If you’re an employee and you’re looking to install Microsoft 365 on your personal computer, you’re eligible for the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program (formerly known as the Home Use Program). This program allows you to shop for select Microsoft products at discounted prices.

Important: You will use your SDSU email to receive the discount, but you will need a personal Microsoft 365 account to sign-in to make a purchase and use the software.
